Hidden damage after a car accident

On Behalf of Rosenthal, Levy, Simon & Sosa | Jan 10, 2018 | Car Accidents

Every day, people in Florida end up in car accidents. The year 2016 saw the highest number of car accidents on record in recent memory. According to data compiled by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, over 395,000 accidents occurred in 2016 compared to just over 374,000 in 2015.

Fortunately, many of these accidents do not result in injuries to anyone. While drivers and passengers should still see a doctor just to make sure they are all right, there is something else to check following a collision: property damage. Certain collisions may not result in exterior damage, but there could be problems lurking under the surface. You should always take your vehicle to a mechanic to ensure everything is all right. This inspection will help your claims process greatly.

Loose battery

The battery may not have sustained too much damage, but it could become loose. This will impact its functionality and could significantly decrease its lifespan. Therefore, you need to reattach it if it no longer has an adequate connection.

Leaks

Another sign of damage you may not immediately see is leaks in the system. Many car parts, including the radiator and oil pan, hold liquid. One rupture is all it takes for essential liquids to flow out of the system and seriously impede your vehicle.

Misalignment

One collision to the bumper is all it takes to make a car’s wheel go out of alignment. You should see a mechanic for a wheel realignment once annually anyway, but it is a good idea to get one right after an accident, too.

It is critical to get an assessment as soon as you can right after an accident. If you wait, then it will be tougher to prove to your insurance provider that the car damage was directly related to the collision. Even if there are no visible signs of damage, it is still a good idea to have the police file an official report.

I was injured at work directly due to poor management decisions. I worked as a lifeguard and a child that was in the care of the day care facility on the campus ran away. He was in immediate danger. I…

I have recommended Jonathan Levy and his law firm to my friends and one of them became his client. I am truly grateful for everything Jonathan Levy and his team have done on my behalf. He is truly a wonderful attorney.
Faithe C.

Much to my surprise not only did they win my lawsuit but I ended up getting 3 times the original amount I was expecting to get! I could not have been more pleased with the staff and the outcome.

If it wasn’t for your help, I know I wouldn’t have been able to win my case. I know that it was far away for you to come to Miami but your professionalism was outstanding. I will always recommend you.
Maria W.

You might say you were even just doing your job, however, I think it’s essential that you realize how fortunate I am to have such a trusted esteemed attorney in my corner, blessed really.
