Do you know the right course of action after an accident?

On Behalf of Rosenthal, Levy, Simon & Sosa | Apr 9, 2020 | Car Accidents

The aftermath of a car accident can be overwhelming. You may be driving down the road, and the next instant you may find yourself sitting in a damaged vehicle wondering what happened. What you do next matters, whether it’s at the scene of the accident or in the days and weeks following.

Any Florida driver can benefit from knowing what to do after a car accident. If you have already been in an accident, it is beneficial to know how to navigate the next few weeks and months as you work with insurance companies and try to secure appropriate compensation. It can be complicated to pick up the pieces and move forward, and this is why accident victims find it beneficial to work with an experienced legal ally after a crash.

What should happen next?

At the scene of the accident, you may feel uncertain about what you should do, especially if you are suffering from injuries. If you are able to do so, the following steps may be helpful:

  • Check on the other people involved in the accident, and call for emergency medical help if they need it.
  • Get information from other people involved in the accident. This means also exchanging contact information from people who witnessed the crash.
  • Try to take pictures of the accident scene, including the position of the vehicles and other things that may be important.

After you leave the scene of the accident, your course of action could be very important, especially if you think you will seek compensation through a civil claim at some point. Some helpful steps include:

  • Keep up with your medical bills and any documentation that proves the significance of the impact of the car accident on your life.
  • You may also want to contact your insurance company, and you may want to consider suing the insurance company of the other driver.

At this point, you may find it beneficial to speak with an attorney about the specific legal options available to you.

Where should you start?

It’s not easy to know what to do after a car accident. You may feel confused and unsure of how you can get your vehicle repaired and pay your medical bills. Thankfully, you may be able to secure compensation through a personal injury claim. If your accident was the result of the reckless or negligent actions of another person, this could be an option for you.

Much to my surprise not only did they win my lawsuit but I ended up getting 3 times the original amount I was expecting to get! I could not have been more pleased with the staff and the outcome.

If it wasn’t for your help, I know I wouldn’t have been able to win my case. I know that it was far away for you to come to Miami but your professionalism was outstanding. I will always recommend you.

You might say you were even just doing your job, however, I think it’s essential that you realize how fortunate I am to have such a trusted esteemed attorney in my corner, blessed really.
