2 Florida men dead after workplace accident

In Florida and beyond, construction work typically ranks high on most lists for dangerous jobs. Many construction sites are near traffic, thus placing workers at risk for getting struck by a moving vehicle. Heavy machinery, working from high scaffolds and other issues also increase the risk of personal injury on the job. A recent workplace accident resulted in two fatalities.

Grief is intensified when a fatal accident involves young adults. In this particular situation, both workers were age 22. They were working for an engineering and testing company when things went very wrong at their job site. 

The workers were using an auger drill at the time. At some point, the drilling boom they were raising struck a live electrical wire above them. Sadly, both men were electrocuted after the drill hit the live line and caught fire. As is common following workplace accidents, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the tragedy.

Such investigations can take weeks, even months to conclude.
