Florida fatal auto accident involved two vehicles
When Florida motorists get behind the wheel, they may encounter certain roadway situations that place them at risk for injury. In fact, some types of road locations are known to be more dangerous than others. Intersections, for instance, rank high on most lists of potentially dangerous travel areas. Sadly, the new year had only just begun when a fatal auto accident occurred at a crossroads in Sarasota.
It was nearly 1 a.m. when police were dispatched to the accident scene. Preliminary investigations show that two vehicles collided when one of the drivers attempted a left turn at an intersection. His vehicle apparently turned in front of another car that was heading south.
The sudden impact of the collisions resulted in minor injuries to the 71-year-old man who was driving the car that turned left. A 22-year-old man behind the wheel of the other vehicle also suffered non-life threatening injuries. The older man was carrying a 60-year-old female passenger in his car at the time. Police say she did not survive her injuries.
Any time a fatal auto accident occurs in Florida or elsewhere, it is tragic. When such incidents happen on or close to holidays, it can intensify the grief of loved ones and the friends of fatally injured victims. Such tragedies often lead to litigation as well. In this particular case, police say charges are pending. If an immediate family member of a deceased victim has reason to believe another person’s negligence caused his or her loved one’s death, a wrongful death claim may be filed in civil court.
