Rosenthal & Levy Underwrites Pahokee High School Football - Second Consecutive Year Firm Covers School District Insurance Fees

Challenges Businesses Countywide to Support Area Student Athletes

July 21, 2005, West Palm Beach, FL—Rosenthal & Levy, P.A., today announced it is underwriting the $50 insurance payments for the Pahokee High School varsity football team. The fee instituted by the School District of Palm Beach County has been labeled “pay for play.” Before participating in any varsity athletic program, each student is responsible for a $50 insurance payment. The money is intended to offset the school district’s insurance costs.

This year marks the second consecutive year Rosenthal & Levy has covered the insurance payment for players at Pahokee High School. Last year the firm stepped in just days before the football season began. Pahokee went on to win the Class 2-B, Florida State High School Championship. The title was the second consecutive State Championship for the Blue Devils. This year, the team is looking to “three-peat.”

Last year Rosenthal & Levy was the first area business to adopt a school’s student athletes. Other area businesses went on to donate more than $15,000 to several high schools. Gerry Rosenthal commented, “We don’t want to see local businesses jumping on the bandwagon in the 11th hour. Now, before the season begins is the time for this community to pull together and take care of the kids who need it and deserve it. Let them concentrate on playing hard and fair, not on the economics of it all. Life leaves plenty of time for that. I challenge the many successful businesses in Palm Beach County to pick a school and adopt its athletes. He continued, “These kids are all of our futures.”

Pahokee Head Football Coach Leroy Foster stated, “This is the third time Rosenthal & Levy has stepped up for this team and this school. I hope more people follow their lead. What an example to set for this community and more importantly, for these kids.” Coach Foster continued, “Every time we’ve needed something these guys have stepped to the plate and hit a homerun.” In addition to sponsoring the insurance payments, at the end of last season Rosenthal & Levy kicked off a drive to supply the football team with state championship commemorative jackets.

Since 1985, members of Rosenthal & Levy have served over 10,000 clients from the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach and Broward County. The Firm maintains offices in Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach, Florida. With 11 attorneys and a support staff of 55, Rosenthal & Levy is regarded as a regional leader in personal injury, wrongful death, and workers ’ compensation and Social Security Disability law.
