Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income
Social Security Disability
Social Security Disability is a right, not a privilege. You’ve worked hard for years. Through your deductions to the F.I.C.A. tax, you’ve contributed to the Social Security Trust Fund. If you are disabled and unable to work due to illness or injury, help is now available to you.
Ask yourself this:
- Are you under age 65?
- Are you disabled and unable to work?
If you answered yes, Social Security Disability is an option for you. The system was designed with you in mind. Even if you’ve already applied, we can help!
Supplemental Security Income
If Social Security Disability isn’t for you, Supplemental Security Income could be the answer. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal income supplement program funded by general tax revenues (not Social Security taxes). SSI is designed to help aged, blind and disabled people who have little or no income. It also provides cash to meet basic needs for food clothing and shelter.
